Lawson Electric’s foundation was laid with a dedication to customer service.
Since opening our doors in 1925, we’ve built more than electrical systems — we’ve built relationships.
What began in Chattanooga nearly a century ago has grown into one of Tennessee’s largest and most respected electrical contractors, serving clients across 17 states with integrity, precision, and care.

Today, our team of more than 500 professionals — including electricians, engineers, project managers, designers, automation specialists, and administrative staff — is dedicated to one thing: making your project a success.

Roughly 50% of our annual work comes through long-term partnerships and negotiated design/build projects — relationships built on trust, collaboration, and results. The rest is earned through competitive bids, where our reputation for quality and reliability continues to set us apart.
The Lawson Prefab Advantage
Our 60,000-square-foot Prefabrication Center allows our electricians and engineers to build complex assemblies in-house — using advanced BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3D scanning technology to plan every detail before construction begins.
By creating a digital 3D version of each project, we can visualize how every component fits together, catch potential issues early, and keep teams aligned from start to finish.
The result: faster installs, safer workflows, and unmatched precision for industrial and commercial clients across the Southeast and beyond.

We’ve maintained a dedicated Safety Director since 1998 and a custom safety program that evolves with OSHA regulations to ensure every employee goes home safe each day.
Our electricians complete OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR training, along with continuous education on job-site standards and new technologies.
We also participate in the Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace Program, promoting health and accountability across our entire team.
